Craps

Craps is a casino game that is emerged from the English game Hazard. It is basically a dice game where the winner is decided based on the outcome of the rolls of dice. Craps is one of the oldest casino games and is mainly popular in American communities.

Lets see the rules of the game:

The player or a group of players bet against the casino and the based on the results of rolling dice, the winners are decided. Initially a come-out roll is made by the shooter, the resulting number is set to be the point. Now if the outcome of the dice is 2, 3 or 12 it is called as craps and all the players loose their bets. If the outcome is a 7 or 11, the players win their pass line bets, i.e if a players bets 5$ for a particular roll, he wins 5$ and this is called as winning pass line bets. If the outcome of the roll of dice is other than the above mentioned numbers it is called as a point number and the shooter has to roll the dice again till the point number turns up or a number 7 turns up. If the point number turns up all the players are considered as winners else if the number 7 turns up the casino wins and the players loose.

There will 4 members staff around each craps table conducting the game: boxman, two base dealers and stickman are the 4 people who conduct the game

Boxman: guards the chips on the table.
Two base dealers: they stand beside the boxman and collect the bets of the players.
Stickman: passes the dice to the shooter, announces the winner. The stickman stand exactly opposite to the boxman.

The dice should be rolled such that they bounce of the opposite wall of the table thus making sure that the dice are not controlled while rolling and also if the dice fall off the table, a new dice is taken or the same dice will be considered only after it is examined by the boxman.

Types of bets:

Pass line bets: as discussed above if a 2,3 or 12 is the result the players loose and if 7 or 11 is the result the players win and the winning amount is equal to the bet amount. If the point number is selected and if it turns up the player win and if 7 turns up the casino wins.
Don't pass line bet : in this bet, the player should not roll the point numbers to win, and also the craps numbers and natural numbers are quite opposite to the that of the pass line bets.

Strategies:

Martingale system:

No casino game has ever been predictable and martingale system is not a good idea to rely on. One must understand the all the casino games are based on luck. It is not a clever idea to rely on these kind of systems.
